Renting A Unit

As part of the unit rental process we will ask you to complete a Customer Information Form with your general details. We will also ask that you sign a Storage Agreement, which details the terms of storage at Guardian Storage. If you would like to view a copy of this agreement, click here. We will walk you through this process and answer any questions you may have at the same time.

Paying Your Bills

We ask that you pay for your storage unit rental one month in advance at a minimum. We accept personal and business cheques, as well as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and Bankcard. From the first month we will send you a reminder invoice when the payment is due. We do not impose long binding contracts, however you are welcome to pay for longer periods in advance if it is convenient. Similarly, many of our customers pay by direct debit, particularly if they are going away for an extended period of time.

Insuring Your Goods

Guardian recommends that all customers consider insurance for their goods. Glen Iris and Hawthorn customers, please see our Guardian policy wording for further details click here (277Kb).

Accessing your unit

As a customer of Guardian Storage, you are able to access your unit as often as you like. To access your unit you will need to know your personal pin number to drive into the complex, and, because you have your own padlock on the unit, you will need your key to unlock the padlock.

Moving your goods in and out

Depending on the types of goods you are storing, Guardian Storage provides a range of trolleys and handling equipment to take the physical strain out of the task. Because there are a number of access points into the complex, you will not have to travel far from your vehicle to your unit. For the units upstairs, we provide simple to use hoists for your goods. We provide clear instructions on how to use the hoists. If you are uncertain or uncomfortable about using any equipment, we will be happy to show you the right way.

Using a Removals and Transport Company

Because we are constantly receiving goods through removals and transport companies, we are aware of the companies in the area and can put you in contact with them. If you have specific requirements with your transport, we will help you find the right removals company for you.
